Montgomeryshire Forest School has developed quickly since late 2008. We have found several new woodland settings where we have built Forest School sites for groups of school children, children with special needs, young adults, local communities, and families to access a healthy environment (minimum, a large shelter, fire area with secure benches, and suitable activity areas) where they can explore a large number of stimulating and resourceful activities using tools and natural materials.

Its important for the viability of the project that the schools can reach the sites by foot, or failing that, by short, inexpensive modes of travel.

We also have a mobile kit we take to schools that are unable to access the woodlands so that we are able to recreate the feeling of a Forest School environment on school grounds.

So far sites have been set up in Newtown, Abermule, Forden, Guilsfield and Tregynon which are used by twelve schools.

All practitioners are fully qualified Forest School, insured and CRB checked.

"Thoroughly enjoyable for adults and children. Would love to do more Forest School work"
